African violet, blooming and gorgeous

A simple, ubiquitous African violet. What a wonderful plant. It came into my life about four years ago when I purchased it at Sunnyside Garden Centre in Calgary. Visiting garden centres is the best form of retail therapy I know, especially in the depths of dreary winter. I think it was around February or March when we were united for the bargain price of $3.99. The violet has bloomed at least a few times a year ever since, thriving in bright spaces with not too much to drink. I suppose those are ideal conditions for all of us, aren’t they?
